Akis Polizos is an award-winning Greek director who was born and raised in Giannitsa. Since 2006, he has been living and working in Athens in the fields of cinema and advertising. He has directed short films, television commercials, TV series, and music videos. His debut short film Amendment 10/60 premiered at LA Shorts and won five awards at the Drama Short Film Festival, including Best Director. The film was also selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick. In 2022, he co-directed the TV series MAESTRO with Christoforos Papakaliatis, which became the first Greek series to be streamed worldwide on Netflix. In 2025, he produced the short film I’m Glad You’re Dead Now, his first as a producer, which was selected for the Official Competition at the Cannes Film Festival 2025 and won the Short Film Palme d’Or.
